Marvin Law, Sigmetrix

A demonstration of techniques for using CE/TOL to perform tolerance analysis in the early stages of the design process, before geometry is finalized.

Bio
Marvin Law is a Senior Software Developer at Sigmetrix, LLC. He is involved in researching, designing, and implementing CE/TOL SixSigma Tolerance Optimization System, a software package for mechanical tolerance analysis and optimization.

Marvin has been actively involved in the research of tolerance analysis of mechanical assemblies since 1993. He has been doing research and development directly on the CE/TOL tolerance analysis tool since 1996. In his capacity as a senior software developer on the CE/TOL product, he developed or co-developed many of its core analysis algorithms.

Marvin received his Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from Brigham Young University in 1996. At BYU he was a research assistant for Dr. Kenneth Chase, founder of the Association for the Development for Computer-Aided Tolerancing Systems (ADCATS). For his graduate thesis,
"Multivariate Statistical Analysis of Assembly Tolerance Specifications", he developed methods for mathematically characterizing and performing simultaneous statistical analysis of multiple design requirements.
